BRAWO® SYSTEMS presents new rehabilitation method: BRAWO® Remote LC

Light-curing rehabilitation from the main sewer to the house – independent, efficient, lean

With BRAWO® Remote LC, BRAWO® SYSTEMS introduces a new type of light-curing system for rehabilitating connection pipes directly from the main sewer. The solution impresses with its ease of use, practicality and cost-effectiveness – and opens up new opportunities for rehabilitation companies to efficiently rehabilitate previously difficult-to-access connection pipes.

Background: Demand and challenge

The technology for rehabilitating connection pipes from the main sewer is not new – but has not yet become widely established due to high costs, complex process technology and failure-prone systems.

However, given the great need for renovation in municipal sewer networks, interest in a practical solution remained high. This market need motivated BRAWO® SYSTEMS to develop a system that works with existing plant technology while minimising the risks of process engineering.

Modular system based on proven technology

The system has a modular design and is largely based on proven BRAWO® SYSTEMS components: the BRAWO® Drum 4.0 with side lock for the light curing unit and the BRAWO® Magnavity sx light curing unit. The only new development is the central, patented deflection elbow, which enables the liner to be inverted into the connecting pipe.

Technical features and advantages

With BRAWO® Remote LC, connection pipes DN 100 to DN 150 with bends of up to 90° can be rehabilitated from main sewers of sizes DN 200 to DN 300 – with rehabilitation lengths of up to 50 metres.

The advantages at a glance:

•    No access to private property required

•    Significantly shorter construction time

•    Renovation completely from within the sewer network

•    Simple, safe and reproducible process

Required equipment:

The new BRAWO® RLC, the BRAWO® Magnavity sx light curing unit, the BRAWO® Drum 4.0, a sewer camera (Ø 23 mm), a compressed air push rod system with stone connector and a long inversion pipe.

The materials used include BRAWOLINER®, BRAWO® UVPox51 or LR, and the reusable AIRBAGLINER.

Practical development with partners

On the user side, we were supported as a development partner by Lobbe Kanaltechnik, which contributed its extensive experience to the project. ‘We are delighted to now be able to offer our customers an economically attractive solution,’ emphasises Dusty Weineck from Lobbe.

Successfully tested in practice

In extensive tests in Rheda-Wiedenbrück in August, connection pipes of various dimensions and outlet angles were successfully rehabilitated. Dirk Mumm, Head of Sewer Operations at Eigenbetrieb Abwasser Rheda-Wiedenbrück, sees great potential in the new technology!

Conclusion

With BRAWO® Remote LC, BRAWO® SYSTEMS is launching an innovative, practical and economical process that takes connection rehabilitation from the main sewer to a whole new level. For network operators and rehabilitation companies, this means greater flexibility, greater efficiency and significantly less effort.
