BRAWOLINER® Lining System passes infiltration test in the UK
In an extensive test setup conducted by the Water Research Center (WRc) in Swindon, the BRAWOLINER® system once again demonstrated its practical water resistance this year. As already in 2006, BRAWOLINER® passed the CP655 test in classifications 1 and 2 with flying colors (in 2006 the test was still designated CP308).
In an extreme test simulating high groundwater pressure, the cured liner proved completely leakproof against external water pressure. Even flowing water during installation had no negative effect on insertion, curing, or the water resistance of the cured liner. The external water pressure of 5 meters water column (0.5 bar) was maintained for 30 minutes. During this period, no infiltration occurred. Thus, no water entered between the old pipe’s inner surface and the outer surface of the liner. The liner–resin matrix was also completely leakproof.
Without any additional measures, such as end sleeves or sealing tapes, BRAWOLINER® passed the test immediately – eliminating the need for extra work on site.
The proof of a waterproof, infiltration-free connection between BRAWOLINER® and the host pipe demonstrates that the rehabilitation objective is sustainably achieved through the liner’s bond with the old pipe. Even with an open incoming lateral and without additional connection technology, water resistance could be verified. Therefore, the CP655 certificate also states that a waterproof connection can be achieved without additional sealing technology.
BRAWOLINER® – rehabilitation with confidence
Renovating defective pipelines with BRAWOLINER® is intended, among other things, to ensure that no wastewater can escape and enter soil or groundwater. At the same time, groundwater or strata water must not enter the sewer system. BRAWOLINER® has once again proven its high quality and stands for safe and efficient rehabilitation with minimal effort.
